I have a tf gear reel, nice reel, not top notch but good budget reel ( was free with mag subs) the arm has started to corrode on surface after 5 months but other than that can't fault it yet, was going to buy the competition holdall next!

Only tfg gear I have any experience of is their boots and their bib and brace. Both bought for me for Christmas. The boots although claimed to be waterproof leaked after stepping I'm a puddle on the way to my mark. The bib and brace let water in after a wave washed over the rocks. I may have well had cotton trousers on. The worst bit of tfg is their so called customer service. It dosn't exist!! That's all I'll say about em. Will never ever touch their stuff again!!!!

The boots are 100% waterproof from the bottom of the sole up until were the tounge joins! After that they aint! Its the same with all boots! Its common sense really but alot of people think 100% waterproof is the entire boot! Its only the sole to the joining of the tounge! Hope this settles any debates on the matter.

Right lets get this right before the witch hunt starts on the boots! They are 100% waterproof from the bottom of the sole up until were the tounge joins! After that they aint! Its the same with all boots! Its common sense really but alot of people think 100% waterproof is the entire boot! Its only the sole to the joining of the tounge! Hope this settles any debates on the matter. Not having a pop at anyone but thought id just say before hand.
Similar response I got on the phone.was it you I talked to after swearing at my mrs? Shame they leaked where the sole joins the upper. If I was you I'd refrain from trying to defend tfg on here because you are not very good at customer relations.

I don't own any of their stuff myself but threads like this are good so you know how good some of their gear is and how rubbish some of their other stuff is. If RRG works for them then this should be brilliant for him to get some honest feedback straight from the angler so he can put forward what they need to improve on and also what the customer is praising. I wouldn't go on the defensive as I think he may be but take it on the chin and listen as it's not all bad news as with a lot of brands, some of their gear is good and some will get criticism as with all things.

If one of my employees were online, talking to my customers and potential customers in this manner I'd be mighty ****ed...honestly RRG you are not doing TF or yourself any favours here.

I have a pair of the boots and have used them for over a year. My thoughts are simple, waterproof they are not in the slightest. I always end up with wet socks after a session. Comfortable they most definitely are and I have put some miles on them. So why do I use them you may ask, simple they are incredibly warm. One session was -6 all day, the boots got wet but at no point were my feet cold. I don't like wellies as they are uncomfortable IMHO so I wear boots which when you spend a session cleaning you hands in the sea or returning fish, you are eventually get a wave over the top of your boots. So to finish I will be wearing them until they wear out!

You did well getting that reel I subscribed to Sea Angler in December and still waiting for reel to arrive had some good arguments with them so far they reckon now they were over subscribed and don't have enough reels to go round !!!!!!! But they reckon got some more on order I can see some more arguments coming on this

Anyone else had this problem
