hello, all
I recently posted a thread about the m4 evo vs the century t900
I've not tried the t900 but
A good friend let me have a few casts with a m4 gt, so therefore I've decided too forget about the m4 evo ( a couple of less than positive reviews)but for me personally the m4 gt seemed a bit too tippy with a 175 grm weight
How does the m4 gt compare with the bullet?
Cheers
Jess

The M4 GT will handle 6oz and a whole squid and still have room for a little more no problems , the Bullet will handle more , a friend has used the M4 GT with7oz and bait no problems ,j have used 6 and a large squid.bait as I mentioned above no problems it's only the Glass tip the rest of the rod is very steely.

The bullet is a rough ground rod, with a fairly big diameter butt, very powerful and carbon throughout, its bite detection is not great (unless you have the GT version). The M4GT is more of an all round rod, with a steely backbone and excellent bite detection just depends where you are fishing.
If your fishing rocky rough ground marks..................bullet
If your fishing a mixture of rough, mixed and smooth...............M4GT
I use my M4GT for just about everything

LT Bullet all carbon, Bullet is glass tipped, will handle all leads and conditions. Would prefer the LT Bullet for lifting fish up cliffs. Bullet feels nicer to cast with 200g + big baits compared to the M4gt, M4 gt great all round rod

Two totally different rods. Despite its critics, the M4 GT, remains one of my favourite rods. I fish it in big surf with strong tides using 6-7 oz plus a large bait. Get the timing right and the lead outside the tip and the glass tip is not an issue. I have pulled some really big fish in some really big seas with this rod.
Only my opinion, but I think the glass tip on the Bullet GT is longer than on the M4 GT. I find the rod easier to cast than the M4 despite the really stiff butt. The tip sits beautifully in the tide and, for the power of the rod, has phenomenal bite detection. I started using it on occasions when there was much weed in the water and very strong cross-currents. Despite having rather small hands (yes and that too), I really enjoy using the Bullet. It has now become the go to rod in my extensive collection. I think that you will find that most Bullet users are avid supporters of this model.

Totally agree with this I had a pair of m4 gts and ended up getting rid of them because since having bullet gts they didn't get used .the bullet gt is one of the best do it all rods out there love mine

I've owned a m4gt it's a great rod but for where I fish at times need to use 8oz and I found the rod does struggle a bit with that weight.
I now use a pair of bullet gt hi flexes again great rods , handle 8oz's no problem and a fantastic tip, overall a great all round rod.

Had a bullet hiflex, fantastic all round rod. Tip really does cover for heavy and light use, go everywhere rod. I found it kind of had a two stage effect, really shows up bites in last 4 inches but also bends nicely in tide and cast etc in top 12 inches before the mid section kicks in. Not sure if that makes sense but only way I can really describe it. Sold it as went all conti and now regret it

I've owned every rod mentioned in this thread and they are all brilliant in their own right, I'm currently using the T900's and find they are exactly like the 2011 model bullet but much thinner brilliant rods. if you like the bullet but don't like the thicker butt take a look at the T900 its a fabulous rod fantastic bite detection and more power than you will ever need..
and thats some statement coming from a complete zziplex nut lol......

I think I would have liked my t900 better if it was not 14 ft 4 that's what spoilt it for me 13ft8 is more than enough.
I found repeated casting and bringing in with two t900 was exhausting.
I have had a pair of bullet tournemnt internationals used them the last two cod seasons they are the slimmest bullets that I have and more than enough power and deceptively light, with superb bite detection.

i don't understand this at all? lol...... just sit the reel 6" farther up the butt making the useable rod 13'
the 2011 bullet is 13' 6" add a reducer and its 14' 6" as is the bullet hi-flex! that 2" longer than the T900 as standard without the need to buy a reducer at extra cost..

The T900 felt heavy and unbalanced for me @ 14'4, Century did offer to make shorter butt sections but I sold the pair instead. I got 1 of the 1st Bullet GTs early in 2010 that TC made @ 12'10 and with a 6 inch reducer, it is spot on.

hi -flex bullet all the way , had most of Terry's rods over the years for fishing and field work , after 6/8 hours double patting on 2 rods big baits and green tops ,i come away not feeling like I've done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson :), my su427 s now there's something that would put u on your arse ,:eeks:well mine anyway if I get it wrong.:tongue2:

hi do

u find the bullet gt a lot stiffer or just a bit ?
The bullet gt has a lot more in the mid and butt section than the m4 gt ,I found the bullet gts handled big baits and big leads a lot better too which is the main reason I went on to them I just wish the blank was slimmer for my girlie hands . I bought a pair of t900s which I use for the majority of my fishing now they’re on par with the bullets but a slimmer blank .

Both rods have major problems ,one being far to long and heavy, and the other being to tippy and a over thick butt ,I think it's about time both companies addressed these problems ,there is no need to make a modern rod with such a massive thick butt personally I think zipplex are going down the pan there are far better rods on the market
